Nicole Ari Parker (born Nicole Ari Parker) is an American actress that works in the fields of film, television and theatre. She's best known as Teri Joe, a fiery lawyer on The Showtime program Soul Food. Following her marriage to her husband, she was referred to by the name Nikki Kodjoe. From the time she was a child, Nikki Kodjoe was a naturally talented actor. In a Maryland contest for students in high school, she was awarded the prize for the best Actress. Her career in acting started after she was employed by the Washington Ballet Company and the theater. The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love was her first big role. She was awarded the award in 2002 for the most outstanding production of the Year, as judged by Canadian Critics. Contractor accepted the offer to join Stratford's Conservatory. Only eight men selected as well as four females get accepted to a course of 20 weeks in the classical theatre.
